The Power of Women Mentoring Women

I’ve been blessed in my life to have incredible women who have mentored me—guiding, encouraging, and challenging me to grow. And after years of standing in a place where I have been able to offer the same to others, I see just how powerful the cycle of mentorship truly is.
Mentorship isn’t just about career advice or professional networking. It’s about wisdom passed down over coffee shop conversations, encouragement in moments of doubt, and celebrating victories, big and small. It’s about having someone who sees your potential even when you don’t and is willing to walk alongside you as you step into it.
Being a mentor is just as transformative as having one. There’s an indescribable joy in watching someone you’ve mentored succeed, in knowing that you played a small role in their journey. It’s a reminder that we don’t walk this path alone—we thrive when we lift each other up.
If you’ve ever been mentored, you know the impact it can have. And if you’ve never had a mentor, I encourage you to seek one. Look for the women who inspire you, who live with wisdom and kindness, and who are willing to invest in others. And if you are in a place to mentor, step into it with an open heart—you never know whose life you might change.
This blog is more than words; it’s a celebration of the women who came before us, the ones who stand with us, and those we will lift up next.
I remember one of my earliest mentors—a woman who believed in me and saw my potential when I didn't. She didn’t just tell me I was capable; she showed me by example. She lifted me up with her words, shared her hard-earned lessons, and never let hard work deter her, not them and certainly not now. Her influence shaped the way I see others, assuming the best of them and leading from that place of optimism. I was fortunate enough to have lunch with her this week.

This week I traveled to Quanitco at the request of one of my dear friends, (and mentor) Deanna, who was in town facilitating small groups at a conference. While there we shared time with two other incredible ladies, Gia and Heather. We met and formed the friendship we have today around a program that was designed to mentor military spouses in the early 2000's. They have mentored many women since then and still inspire me today. And, I was able to squeeze in lunch and some much needed conversation with one of my first mentors, Bonnie. My path crossing with Bonnie's forever changed my trajectory. If it hadn't been for her example and insight I wouldn't have been apart of that program that opened so many other doors. I’m excited to share these photos with you of these incredible women who inspired me then and continue to do so today. May their faces remind us all of the power we hold when we pour into one another.
I would love to hear about your mentor or your experience mentoring someone else. Please reach out directly or in the comments. Have a beautiful week.
Much love,
